International Students
Welcome to Løgumkloster Højskole!
Løgumkloster Folk High School is a common broad folk high school in the small nice, scenic town of Løgumkloster in Southern Jutland.
What drives us is the hope for a better and more sustainable world. However, we also know that hope is not enough, and therefore we equip you and your fellow students with tools, knowledge and a community, that allows you to go out and do something about the world you live in. Saving the world is not something we do individually, but together.
Teachers, students, janitor, kitchen, office staff - we make the folk high school together and create the large, but close, community that characterizes a real folk high school life.
So whether you want to learn how to cook vegetarian food, explore your political nature or express your thoughts on a blank canvas, do so because you hope.
There is room to choose. Room for friendships. Room for play, community, dilemmas and to be different. In short: At Løgumkloster Folk High School, there is room for you.
What is a Danish folk high school?
A Danish folk high school is a place where you can learn and live. There are many good reasons to do so: some want to develop their creative sides or get really good at what they are passionate about. Others lack a new perspective on everyday life and want to be part of a community.
No matter why you need a folk high school semester, a stay at our school is a great and constructive break. Here you will receive lessons in exciting subjects and spend time with people who are just like you. There is also time for you to be yourself and retire to your room. In addition, you have time off on the weekends.
Løgumkloster Folk High School's values

In theory, yes. However some of the elective subjects occur simultaneously, and since you can’t be in two places at the same time, you would have to choose one over the other. But don’t worry, elective subjects are first chosen when you get to the high school.

Løgumkloster Folk High School is in the category of a small folk high school and can have a maximum of 65 students.
Often, however, there are a little fewer, and you will therefore experience a school with a wonderful little community. The classes are a little bigger than you might know it from primary and secondary school.
Big enough that you can find a close group of friends, but also not so big that there are people you don't know.
At the school, everyone is part of the big community - this applies to everything from the teachers to the janitor and kitchen staff who either live at the school or nearby.
-
There are no classes on weekends. One of the family is responsible for a brunch at 10:00 and dinner at 18:00, but apart from that students are free. Activities or trips are very often organized by the students themselves, but you can also take that time to relax.
